questions around innovation

Last week I was invited to attend a round table discussion hosted by Fabian Society on the fringe of the 2007 Labour Party Conference in Bournemouth. The discussion was about innovation within the Public Sector. The key questions that stuck in my mind included:

What is the role of government in public sector innovation and how can they support it?
Where do you put maximum effort in when innovating?
How do ethics impact on innovation?
How can we create more demand from the general public, leading to a pull factor for innovation in the public sector?
Is the language surrounding innovation a barrier or an enabler to success?
How do you fund innovation to enable sustainability?

And I could keep going… But I think that’s enough food for thought at the moment. If anyone has any comments or answers, please do leave a post.
