meeting the prime minister!

As you may have seen in February I received a reply to my letter to Gordon Brown, inviting him to lunch.

This week, Downing Street have been in touch! Regrettably due to Gordon Browns hectic schedule he is unable to meet us, but is excited about thinkpublic and has therefore arranged for us to meet with Greg Beales.

I can’t believe that a simple letter can have such an effect! We are all very excited about the meeting, it will be a great opportunity to share and understand how the ways that we work could fit with the challenges that government faces.

Greg Beales is Senior Advisor for Health and Social Care issues to Gordon Brown.

Apparently he is well known for being a “strong advocate of a greater focus on prevention across the public services, arguing that to meet modern challenges, public services needed to co-produce outcomes with a public more responsible for its own behavior and actions”, so it should be an interesting conversation!

Deborah and I will meet Greg on the 6th of May at Whitehall. Does anyone have any questions they think we should ask whilst we are there? I’m quite nervous about the whole experience so any pointers would also be appreciated!

  1. Great work Alice! Hope your meeting will have some impact. Be sure to share your experience.

  2. Yeah, amazing Alice. Tell them what’s what. It sounds like you’ll have a lot in common; perhaps you could suggest some ways of trialling the implementation of co-production on a large scale?
