On Saturday I went to visit The Bigger Picture Event , hosted by NEF. The Interdependence festival brought together artists, thinkers, activists and members of the public for a day of learning, making, celebrating and debating, about how we can start the Great Transition to a new economy.
Stemming from the immediate need of climate change that needs to happen to reduce the amount of C02 in the atmosphere from where it is now 389ppm to 350ppm. This will mean that the climate is one that we as humans can survive on.
I was inspired by talks and discussions and excited about the ways that we can become more green at thinkpublic. One of the most inspiring talks was from Susan George explaining about how ‘We need 2 reverse the circles that surround us to be not governed by finance, but by our environment & biosphere’. She rightly said, ‘The universe would be better off without us!’ Also the theme throughout all discussions is to stop campaigning over the small things and use the power of collective citizens to start a social movement.
