Recently, Emma and I facilitated a workshop with the winners of ‘what one idea would improve your community’ competition.
We designed a dynamic event working with the hastoe housing association and local residents to work up their idea of creating a ‘Skill Sharing Space’ within their community.
We spent time talking about other skill sharing spaces, generating ideas on how their skill sharing space could work, listing the things they wanted to share and learn and start planning on how to share the idea with more residents. It was really exciting for us to support the community directly, and we can’t wait to keep in contact with the group to see how they are doing in a few months!
“I want to send you a really big thank you, the day was just right, a mixture of fun and making people think differently. We had got “stuck” and this has helped us move on.”
- Judith, Area Housing Manager
“The group really loved being able to work with younger people. The workshop and our idea allowed us to think about how we can engage with more residents.”
Helen Riley, Community Development Officer
“It feels like our eyes have been opened to completely new ideas and inspired us to think about what we might be able to achieve.”
