thinkpublic worked with John Kelly Girls’ Technology College to support the learning objectives of their year 7 students and produced participatory films about the future of the school. Students were trained in various roles of film production – sound recording, camera work, producing, directing and storyboarding. They then set about making films focused on what they wanted the future of their school to be: their ideas ranged from designing their own school uniforms to the introduction of escalators and a stricter policy on chewing gum. The films were screened to the whole school and will contribute to a planned school re-design.
