Playmakers, the latest project from thinkpublic’s media department will be premiered this evening at the Sheffield International Documentay Festival. The project, in assocatiion with NESTA and Hide&Seek, documents the ermerging field of pervasive games and explores the relationship between play, public space and new technology. The film is a thought provoking insight into 21st century forms of play and features Mike Wesch and Howard Rheingold amongst leading games designers.
After the screening the audience will have the chance to participate ‘Scoop!’; the game which the film documents. The film will be screened at a series of events in the UK and worldwide before being launched online with a Creative Commons license in 2010.
