thinkpublic see innovation and co-production as a way of stretching public sector resources further. Our experience shows us that co-designing with public service users can result in right-first-time, efficient public services that provide a better experience and save you money.

Designing for dementia

Since 2007, thinkpublic have been working with the Alzheimer's Society to develop an advice service supporting people with dementia at the point of diagnosis. The Dementia Adviser role - initially suggested by thinkpublic - now forms part of the Government's nationwide strategy.

thinkpublic's Ian Drysdale will be speaking next Tuesday 9th July at Civil Service Live about the success of our work in this area. If you're there, pop along and say hello.

Pervasive games mix real-world play with digital technology and use the city as their playground. In partnership with NESTA and Hide and Seek, thinkpublic are filming a series of dispatches from the cutting edge of pervasive gaming. The films explore how new technologies can enable new forms of playful activity in public spaces, and ask, as social technology becomes more involved in our day to day lives, how will we use it to play?

Paul Thurston has written about thinkpublic's
trail-blazing work in a new Finnish book, Designing Services with Innovative Methods. We're proud to see our head of design published alongside leading academics and practitioners Birgit Mager, Ezio Manzini and IDEO. Copies of the book are available through The University of Art and Design Helsinki Bookshop.

We're also looking forward to a new publication we've co-authored with the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement which will outline key opportunities for patient engagement in the NHS. It's coming soon - email deborah@thinkpublic.com to be notified when the book is available.
